Project ECHO is an innovative telementoring model that connects medical experts with primary care clinicians to teach them how to treat complex medical conditions using interactive online video technology. Originally developed in 2003 at the University of New Mexico, Project ECHO is now part of ASU’s College of Health Solutions outreach to improve access to specialty care for patients in the areas of behavioral health, liver disease and opioid addiction. 

The professional learning platform has been effective in spreading specialized knowledge to providers across the state and has increased access to health care, especially in rural and underserved areas.
