CEMinar: Jessica Hoffman

"Insights into the evolution of aging and longevity with comparative metabolomics"

Jessica Hoffman will be talking about her research at this CEMinar. Jessica's research is focused on understanding the genetic, metabolic and environmental factors that influence aging and longevity.

In search of these factors, she studies a myriad of species including fruit flies, companion dogs, mice and marmosets. To understand these underlying molecular mechanisms, she analyzes large metabolomics datasets. Metabolomics consists of all the small molecules of intermediate metabolism, and they can provide novel hypotheses about the different metabolic pathways associated with age.

Jessica is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Alabama at Birmingham.
