RISE Webinar Series
@Notes
- RISE Data Lab provides a series of webinars on three domains of research: data collection, data management, and data analysis. Please contact the Data Lab manager, Dr. SeungYong Han (shan32@asu.edu), if you have any questions.
- Any researchers affiliated with Edson College and CHS & their collaborators (non-Edson/CHS scholars) are eligible to register for the webinars.
- Pre-registration is required to attend the webinars.
- Registration will be closed a day prior to the webinar date.
- Webinars will not be recorded.
@Data Management Workshop (August 11-12, 2022, 9 AM – 12 PM)
- The outline of the workshop: (Click HERE).
- Notes.
- This 2-day workshop is designed for Edson students, staff, and faculty members, who have no or little experience with academic research and data management with two learning goals: better understanding of academic research and how to prepare the collected data for further analysis.
- SPSS will be used as a primary software for handling data during the workshop. No prior experience with SPSS is necessary. The instructor will demonstrate how to use SPSS for various data management tasks only by point-and-click, and attendees will be asked to go through multiple data management exercises each day.
- Prior knowledge of statistics or analysis experience is not required to attend the workshop.
- The workshop will be hosted in the computer room of the Health South building (#299).
- The room has desktops with SPSS installed, so you do not need to bring your own computer.
- If you decide to bring your own laptop, it is highly recommended that you have SPSS installed on your computer. Detailed instructions on how to install SPSS will be provided in advance via email.
- In-person attendance is strongly recommended but both in-person and Zoom options will be available.
